To promote energy transition and economic decarbonization, Kazakhstan has introduced measures for the construction of electric vehicle infrastructure.
Currently, there are 51 EV charging stations in Astana, 52 in Almaty, 1 each in Pavlodar City, Aktau City and the Astana-Shuchinsk Expressway.

In addition, there are many electric vehicle charging stations installed by private individuals and enterprises in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan also has ultra-fast charging stations. For example, there are 6 Tesla Supercharging stations within the Taldy-Tarant Complex in the capital.

The Kazakh government supports measures to improve the conditions for the use of electric transportation. To further gradually develop the EZS network, a meeting was held in July this year, and a roadmap was approved for establishing the necessary infrastructure for electric vehicles in all major cities of Kazakhstan by 2029.
This roadmap stipulates regulatory and technical requirements regarding the design and arrangement of infrastructure, the production of domestic equipment for electric vehicle charging, and the determination of the requirements for electric vehicle charging stations and their installation locations.

It also stipulates the introduction of various incentive measures and mechanisms to develop the use of electric vehicles and related infrastructure.
